Short App Group Animation!

The requirements of our short app animations were to make a short animation within an hour and to only use 5 items through out, which made it quite tricky. We also had to decide within our group of 4, who had what role within the animation process. Another requirement would be that we had to show our planning of the animation.

In our animation there wasn’t many constraints, however there was a few. For example, time was a big one as we only had an hour to complete a short animation. To plan for the animation, I created a story board to plan out what was going to happen throughout the animation and how everything was gonna be laid out. The practical skills I used for the animation were drawing, and scene making, using 3D building lego, filming , planning things to help create the background. We decided that each of us had certain jobs as they used skills that we were good at.

My role was being an art director which meant that I had to draw out the story board and sort out different types of stuff. Everyone stayed with their job role, and made sure everything that they was responsible for was completed.

To make our video we used a phone and an app called Stop Motion. This app was easy to use as it lists all of the options clearly, and lets you change any of your mistakes easily. Using this app allowed us to add sound to our animation which was easier than using the computer. Other pieces of equipment we used were props like Lego people and a toy whale/shark, which we could move easily in different positions.

I think that our animation was successful as we created a video that was 34 seconds long. Also the props in the animation worked really well and made the animation really good. To make it better we could have added more to the story, to make it longer. We used our time wisely, as we made sure the props were in the right places at all time. The only thing that we could of worked on more was our story line as it could have been much longer than it was.
