Tara McPherson

Tara McPherson is an artist based in New York City . She creates art about normal people and their odd ways, her characters seem to give out an idealised innocence with a bit of hard earned wisdom in their eyes. She explores the realms of our psychological states via myths, legends, childhood and good old life experience throughout her work, which I think is what makes her art quite unique. Tara has many clients that include of Warner Brothers and Microsoft, which is extremely good as these two company’s are very well known.

In my own opinion I really like Tara’s work as I think that it is extremely different to others and I love the way she pairs bold colours in her pieces. Another reason why I love her work is how she uses illustrator and normal paints which is what I do as well because I like the way paints look with all their different textures compared to inserting pictures of different textures into illustrator or photoshop.

The only thing I don’t really like about her work is how she uses very similar faces for all her pieces of work, but other than that I really like her work. Below are some of my favourite pieces of her artwork.
