Should an Artist or Designer make their own work?

There are many pros and cons about artist/designers making their own work as it can be both good and bad.

I think that artists should make their own work because it means that the work can be individual to them instead of having other people include their ideas. It is also easier to make your own work as it means that it will be made to your exact thoughts/ideas, but if you have other people make it then they could interpret your ideas differently. Another pro would be that when your work is sold all the money would go to you, however you would have to share the profits with your team if they made the artwork.

However, I also think that artists don't have to make their own work because it means that they can produce more than one piece of art, which is good because it means that more money can be made. Another reason would be that more input could be added to the final piece of art produced, which could make the final piece better or worse depending on the what is said. One artist that I know of that doesn’t make his own work is called Maurizio Cattlan.

Overall, I think that artists should make their own work because I think that original work is much better than a copy as it could be worth more in the long run as it would be unique to the owner.
