I have been approached by Farmer Teds to create some brand new merchandise for their nationally renowned Farmaggedon event. However, we also had the choice of Farmer Teds other events, which include Halloweek, Farmer Christmas, The Reptile House, Animal Farm and school visits. I chose Farmaggedon as I thought it would be a lot more fun to create and design.
I am required to produce two posters and six postcards. These could be used in the Farmaggedon shop. It will also help develop my skills further in graphic communication, as I will be putting type and images together. I will also need to keep thinking about my target audience, which is 14+ as that is the age limit for Farmaggedon.
For my primary research I will look around for different types of leaflets and adverts for attractions similar to Farmer Teds and Farmaggedon. I will also dress my brother up like one of the Farmaggedon characters and possibly use him in some of my work.
For my secondary research I will look at Farmaggedon’s previous posters and merchandise, as this will expand my knowledge of the brand and give me more ideas for my final piece.
In in this project it does not seem that there are many major constraints as the brief gives us a lot of freedom to create our own ideas. I think that timing could be an issue and another issue would be that the final cannot be too gory as it could be banned on social media, which is the main place where Farmaggedon’s advertising takes place.
Techniques/Processes I will use are sketching, painting and drafting.
Project deadline- Monday 5th March 2018. I will roughly spend 7 weeks on this project.
