The painting I have chosen is one of Salvador Dali's optical illusion pieces. The piece has been painted using oil paints as they were the most common around this time. At first glance you can just see a skull in the painting, however if you look closer you can see what looks like to clowns, man and woman, on a date of some sort in a bar. I think that this painting is very clever as not many people would see the couple first and I also think it is a very modern piece for its time. I think that the painting is trying to get the message across about how some love may always have been doomed from the start. in my own opinion, I really like the piece as it is amazing how he has been able to paint this illusion and it also, depending on how you look at it, has a deep meaning about romance. It could also give a vibe of Romeo and Juliet as there love was doomed from the very start.
