Traditional Toning

Traditional toning is a process of giving black and white photos some colour. Toning is a chemical process that takes place on silver-based photographic prints. Sepia was one of the first toners to be used in the1880's, it was made by a pigment found in cuttlefish. The most common types of toners used are called Selenium Toner and Sepia Toner. The many colours people use are red/copper and blue. The longer you leave the photo, the stronger the pigment. I really liked this session as it was fun to be able to change a boring black and white photo to something a bit special as it gives the photo more depth.
